Viewing the Factory Service configuration status

In the process of configuring Secure Factory Service, you generate certificates and set up key agreement details, which you use to create trust between the components of the solution and enable encryption.

The Status screen provides you with details of the certificates that you generate and an overview of the Secure Factory Service configuration for your factory, including:

  • Configuration status: indicates whether Secure Factory Service configuration is complete. If you use a root of factories CA, the configuration status changes to Complete only when you upload your factory CA certificate after you sign it with your root of factories CA. For more information, see Factory configuration.
  • Batch details: displays dynamic batch IDs and their start and expiry dates. Secure Factory Service uses these batch IDs to generate symmetric batch keys that it provisions to devices to enable them to encrypt data.
  • Key agreement: provision the Factory ID and Factory public key to your devices' firmware to establish trust between the devices and Secure Factory Service.
  • Certificate authority (CA): displays your factory CA certificate and the root of factories certificate, if relevant. Upload the CA certificate to Device Management to enable Device Management to trust your device certificates.
  • LwM2M server: displays the Server URL to which your devices connect to communicate with Device Management, and the Server root CA certificate public key which enables the device to trust the LwM2M server.
  • Workstation summary: shows the number of workstation that are approved and pending approval. You manage workstations on the Workstations screen.
